PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system driving device enhancing the recording/ reproducing quality of information by suppressing the inclination from a focus direction of the optical axis of an optical element when the element is driven in a tracking direction and a focus direction. SOLUTION: A holder 2 sustaining an objective lens 1 is held with wires 5 so that the position is changeable in a focus direction roughly vertical to the surface of a recording medium and in a tracking direction intersecting the track direction of the recording medium and a magnetic flux is applied to a focusing coil 3 and a tracking coil 4 being constituting elements of driving means driving the holder 2 in the focus direction and the tracking direction respectively in a direction vertical to the tracking direction from one magnetic circuit formed with a magnet 7 and a yoke 10 and an auxiliary magnet 8 is arranged at a position opposing to the part of the tracking coil 4 through which a current is made to flow in parallel to the surface of the recording medium.
