PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrences of shock and vibration caused, when a transfer brush passes the connecting part of a transfer drum and to prevent damages to a photoreceptor drum. SOLUTION: A transfer brush 5b is made movable, a connecting plate 51 of a transfer drum 5a is formed of a member having very high rigidity, and on the underside of the connecting plate 51, sheet-like members S1-S4 are provided in four layers. A multilayer sheet-like member S is composed such that the nearer to the connecting plate 51, the larger the number of the layers and hence the higher the rigidity of the entire multiplayer sheet-like member S, and the farther away it is from the connecting plate 51, the smaller the number of the layers and hence the lower the rigidity of the entire multiplayer sheet-like member S. Furthermore, the rigidity of the sheet-like member S4 being in contact with a transfer sheet 5f is set lower than the rigidity of the transfer brush 5b.
