PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive control method and device for effectively reducing the maximum consumption current by a stepping motor. SOLUTION: A motor drive control device is provided with a first optical member 108 that can travel in the direction of an optical axis, a first stepping motor 110 for driving the first optical member 108, a first stepping motor control means 111 for feeding a control signal to the first stepping motor 110, a second optical member 112 that can travel in the direction of an optical axis, a second stepping motor 114 for driving the second optical member 112, and a second stepping motor control means 115 for feeding a control signal to the second stepping motor 114. A control means 124 sets the stepping motor 114 to bi-phase or one-phase excitation state to set the stepping motor 110 to either one-phase or bi-phase excitation state. |
