PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotational position sensor which requires no calibration or minimum calibration, is small-sized and inexpensive, and has high reliability. SOLUTION: This magnetic rotational position sensor includes a base 20 fitted with magnetic detecting elements 22 which extend radially. Concentrators 30 are arranged alternately at uniform intervals with the detecting elements 22. The sensor assembly 18 is arranged in a uniform magnetic field produced by opposite magnetic poles 32 and 34 which are fixed, for example, on the opposite sides of the sensor assembly and freely rotatable relatively. The rotational position of the sensor assembly which is relative to the magnetic field can be found by comparing the relative values of the sensor elements 22 in the array. |
