PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To search an optimal course to a destination, using public transportation means without forcing inconvenience to a user by searching a course to the goal from the route of public transportation means, while taking diagram into account. SOLUTION: A course searching/displaying system of public transportation means is applied to a navigation system mounted on an automobile. When a user sets searching conditions, i.e., the goal, passing points, type of public transportation means (railways, buses, ferries, etc., including the classification of super express, express and local train in case of railway), type of public transportation means being utilized in each section between passing points and the fact where a diagram is taken into account or not, using a remote controller 26, a course searching section 46 reads out a map data 49 and a public transportation means data 50 from a CD-ROM, or the like, and acquires a diagram, a fare, and the like, by accessing the Internet. An optimal course to the goal passing via the passing points is then searched with Dijkstra method from among the routes of public transportation means and the roads and presented at a display section 52. |
