PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To send/receive a moving picture as a picture with a smooth motion even when a picture is the moving picture. SOLUTION: In this analog telephone system, when an output of an analog signal transmitter-receiver A4 is equal to contents of an analog picture transmission reception discrimination signal, a speech stat using a transmitter A1 and a receiver A2 is brought into a state where a MODEM B4 converts digitally an output of the analog signal transmitter-receiver and the digital signal is converted into an analog signal, which is given to a picture display device. In the case of transmission, an analog picture transmission reception signal given to the analog signal transmitter-receiver on the basis of a signal output from a picture transmission display signal output means and then a digital lie drawing signal is generated from an output of an image pickup camera B1 and the MODEM converts the signal into an analog line drawing signal, which is given to the analog signal transmitter-receiver.
