PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a VLAN management system provided with a function of detecting a VLAN setting error. SOLUTION: The system collects VLAN setting information from a plurality of switching hubs 101, 102, 103 having a VLAN function, discriminates whether or not all ports 109, 111, 112, 114 on a physical path tying both switching hubs 101 and 103 are set to a trunk link port of a VLAN when an access link port 108 of the VLAN is in existence on the switching bus 101 and a VLAN access link port 113 is in existence on other switching hub 103 and informs a manager of an error in the VLAN setting when the discrimination denotes a negative result.
