PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress changes of characteristics with respect to the positional deviation of a line conductor in a broad side type directional coupler. SOLUTION: The directional coupler consists of a 1st line conductor 23 formed on a dielectric board 21 having a ground conductor 22 on its rear side and a 2nd line conductor 24 formed on the 1st line conductor 23 electromagnetically coupled via a dielectric layer and having a line width wider than that of the 1st line conductor 23. Thus, changes of characteristics with respect to the positional deviation of the line conductors 23, 24 can be reduced.
