PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object oriented access for the object viewpoint of various data bases including a relational data base by converting an object oriented reference to a sub reference and executing the sub reference toward the data base and the sub reference toward an object cache. SOLUTION: The object oriented reference is converted to the sub reference with which the sub references more than one are toward the data base and the sub references more than one are toward the object cache. In order to extract data from the data base to the object cache, the sub reference toward the data base is executed. Besides, in order to extract data for reference with integrated updating to the object cache and updating to the data base, the sub reference toward the object cache is executed. In an object oriented SQL engine 200, for example, an object oriented system is operated as a data base manager 202.
