PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the external light emission efficiency by fixing the end of an insulation substrate to a die pad section of a lead frame. SOLUTION: A lead frame 11 for a positive electrode is provided respectively with a lead pad 11a and a die pad 11b, and a lead frame 12 for a negative electrode is provided with a lead pad 12a and a die pad 12b. An element structure 1000 is fixed to the die pads 11b, 12b with an insulating adhesive 15. A p-type electrode 8 and the lead pad 11a are connected by a lead wire 13, and an n-type electrode 9 and the lead pad 12a are connected by a lead wire 14. Finally, the entire device is formed into the shape of a lens 16a. Due to this structure, wherein the emitted light transmission face 10 and the lens-shaped region face each other, light 17 generated by the emitted light transmission face 10 is emitted efficiently to the outside from the lens-shaped region 16a. As a result, absorption or scattering of light by the p-type electrode 8 or the n-type electrode 9, formed on the side opposite to a substrate, can be prevented and light can be extracted to the outside efficiently. |
