PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make uniform the cold temperature distribution early by controlling an wind direction changer, disposed at the air outlet of a sectoral air conditioner mounted on the ceiling at a corner in a room, to blow the air downward at the start-up of cooling operation and to blow the air substantially horizontally after a predetermined time. SOLUTION: A sectoral air conditioner body 1 of a quarter arc sucks air from a lower suction opening, i.e., a front grill 5, through rotation of a crossflow fan and blows air, cooled through heat exchange in a substantially L-shaped heat exchanger, into a room from an arcuate air outlet 2. An arcuate wind direction changer 7 is disposed to cover the air outlet and controlled by a controller 11 depending on the time elapsed at the rising time of cooling operation. More specifically, the wind direction changer is controlled to blow the air downward at the rising time in cooling wind direction automatic operation mode and to blow the air substantially horizontally after a predetermined time thus making uniform the cold temperature distribution early over the entire room. |
