PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor that can conduct diversified synthesis by coping with magnification over a wider range and where limit of an image area capable of reading a picture due to a storage capacity of a memory can be relaxed. SOLUTION: The image processor is provided with a scanner section 2 that reads a picture by scanning it in the unit of lines and outputs the read picture, picture magnification sections 10, 4, 2 that magnify the read picture as required, a picture memory section 60 that stores at least part of the magnified picture, a data bus control section 4 that synthesizes the memory picture stored in the picture memory section 60 with the scanner picture directly outputted from the scanner section 2, and a printer 17 that prints out the synthesized picture. The picture magnification sections 10, 4, 2 select the magnification processing to the memory picture and the scanner picture on the basis of an area signal designating a segmented area, a paste area and a paper magnification rate.
