PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately operate queue-up to a target point even when a scene switching point is present. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a complementing unit 19 for complementing reproduced real time data (time codes) by a control signal, and for obtaining the real time of a magnetic tape, a mute circuit 20 for muting the real time data, and a queue-up processing part 13 to which the complemented real time data are supplied and for controlling the mute circuit 20. Then, the queue-up is performed for allowing the magnetic tape to travel to a return point a little farther than a target point, and to travel again from the return point to the target point is operated so that video signals compression-formed based on plural frame signals can be monitored. When the magnetic tape passes through the target point, the mute circuit 20 is operated. The time code is generated from a reproduction control signal by the complementing means. Thus, it is possible to prevent the discontinuity of the time codes generated due to the switching point of scenes, and to surely operate queue-up to the target point.
