摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to obtain a positive temperature coefficient thermistor having an electrode of a desired shape, by a method wherein when the electrode is formed on the surface of a positive temperature coefficient thermistor element by an electrolytic plating method, the upper part of an insulating layer, which is formed on the part other than the formation part of the electrode, is not plated and a conductive material provided on part of the scheduled electrode formation part is used as the starting point of the plating. SOLUTION: A lead glass paste having an acid resistance is uniformly printed on the center part of the surface of a positive temperature coefficient thermistor element 1, which is the part other than the formation part of an Ni electrode which is formed on the surface of the element 1 afterwards, by a screen printing and thereafter, the paste is subjected to heat treatment and an insulating layer 2 is formed on the center of the upper surface of the element 1. After that, a Zn-containing silver paste having an ohmic property to the element 1 is applied in a dotted type on part of the surface, which is inclined to form the Ni electrode, of the element 1 and thereafter, the paste is baked and a conductive material 3 is formed on the part of a schedueld electrode formation part. Then, an Ni film is plated on the electrode formation part in an Ni plating liquid by an electrolytic plating method and the Ni electrode is formed. Then after a heat treatment, a solder layer 5 is formed on the surface of the Ni electrode by an electrolytic plating method.
