TONER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toner capable of stably giving a high definition images even at high humidity environment or and at low temperature and low humidity environment and having small particle diameter and a sharp particle size distribution. SOLUTION: This toner contains at least a bonding resin and a colorant, has 0.5-6.0μm number average particle diameter and 20% or lower for the coefficient of variation of number distribution and contains a methanol-soluble resin component extracted by a methanol solvent in an amount of 0.01-10 mass % on the basis of the weight of the toner. The methanol-soluble resin component contains a polymer composition having organic acid groups and has 50-600 mgKOH/g acid value(Av).
