PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a traffic jam point easily by linking a convenient road figure with a map and displaying a traffic jam point on the convenient road figure, thereby improving visibility. SOLUTION: Upon receiving traffic jam information via an FM receiver, the control section of a navigation system reads out a map data from a CD- ROM and specifies a traffic jam point on a map. The control section then selects a convenient road figure, displaying a longest course among a plurality of convenient road figures with reference to course search information and describes the selected convenient road figure. Subsequently, the control section determines traffic jam start and end points with reference to the traffic jam point specified on the map. The control section also depicts a searched course on the convenient road figure. |
