OPTICAL DISK DEVICE AND SERVO CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device that tracking servo never comes off due to the eccentricity of a disk and a spindle motor and to provide a servo control method. SOLUTION: A tracking gain is set small when a tracking servo control is started and the tracking gain is set large when it is detected at first that the spot of a laser beam passed an address area after the starting of the tracking servo control and after the first passage of the spot of the laser beam of the address area, a tracking servo control is held when it is judged that the spot of the laser beam has entered the address area and has passed through the area by counting the number of wobble clocks to be generated in synchronization with wobbles recorded on an optical disk and holding of the tracking servo control is released when it is judged that the spot has passed through the area.
