PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize equipment in which a display device is assembled. SOLUTION: An aperture part is provided on the rear cover 17 of a camera, and a display window 18 is fixed on the aperture part. An outside part display unit 50 is disposed inside the window 18. The unit 50 is constituted by sealing high polymer dispersing type liquid crystal 54 between a transparent base plate 52 and a transparent base plate 53 which is thicker than the plate 52. An LED 55 is disposed on a side part of the unit 50 as illumination in the dark, a light beam (r) emitted from the LED 55 advances in the base plate 53, and illuminates a display segment in a diffusing condition among the display segments of the unit 50.
