PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the driving and also to prevent the generation of a crack or curling by hanging and driving a photoreceptor provided with specific linear velocity under a specific condition. SOLUTION: In this image forming device, the photoreceptor with linear velocity greater than 70 mm/sec under the condition of 0.25>(LS/2πW-R)/M<0.40 is hung and driven. Here, LS is the linear velocity of the photoreceptor (mm/sec), W is the number of rotation of a driving roll (times/second), M is the thickness of the photoreceptor (mm) and R is the radius of the driving roll (mm). The position 'x' of the neutral line from the surface of the driving roll which is abutted to the belt state photoreceptor is in the range of 0.25 to 0.4 within the thickness of the whole photoreceptor (total thickness). The material for the belt state photoreceptor substrate can be any generally known engineering plastic base and is not specified. The photoreceptor layer is to be formed containing both a charge transporting substance and charge generating substance and to be of a type where the two functions are separated. It is preferable to have each substance weighed and coated separately. |
