PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the video signal processing circuit of a matrix type display device for improving the continuity of gradation by adaptably smoothing gradation characteristics, and for effectively reducing any pseudo outline-shaped picture quality obstacle which is likely to be conspicuous on a screen with low luminance as a whole. SOLUTION: A dot data gradation detecting circuit 11 detects the gradation of dot data. An each gradation dither pattern generating circuit 12 selects one dither pattern from plural dither patterns. An each dot dither coefficient extracting circuit 13 extracts a dither coefficient corresponding to a dot position from the dither pattern, and synthesizes those extracted dither coefficients for newly generating a dither pattern. An in-block dither coefficient resetting circuit 14 resets the value of the dither coefficient constituting the dither pattern, and generates a final dither pattern to be added to a video signal. |
