PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase continuous operating time, in rotating a disk at high speed, by reducing air resistance due to flowing air caused on the disk surface and suppressing the electric power consumption of the disk drive by that amount. SOLUTION: Flowing air caused by the rotary drive of a disk 1 is released outside a main chamber 10 in which the disk 1 is stored. For this purpose, an exhaust port 12 is formed in the part of a section rib 11 surrounding the main chamber 10, with the outside of the exhaust port covered with a dust- protective short rib 14. The exhaust port 12 is opened to a shock-absorbing space 13 at four corners in the case. When the disk is driven, the flowing air caused on the surface of the disk 1 can be released outside the main chamber 10 through the exhaust port 12, thereby reducing the air resistance of the disk 1.
