PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of improving the retrieval accuracy of images partially similar to a desired image without increasing the division number of the images. SOLUTION: A retrieval key image 100 which is the image partially similar to the desired image, a retrieval key area 101 for indicating a part similar to the desired image inside the retrieval key image 100 and a retrieval object area 102 for indicating an area to be compared with the retrieval key area 101 inside stored images to be the object of retrieval are inputted (10), the feature amount of a division area is weighted by weight set corresponding to the part where the respective division areas of the retrieval key image 100 and the retrieval key area 101 are overlapped and the key feature amount 110 of the retrieval key image 100 is calculated (11). Further, the feature amount of the division area is weighted by the weight set corresponding to the part where the respective division areas of the plural stored images and the retrieval object area 102 are overlapped, the retrieval object feature amount 120 of the respective stored images is calculated (12). The stored image of high similarity 130 calculated by comparing the calculated retrieval key feature amount 110 with the retrieval object feature amount 120 of the respective stored images is outputted as a retrieval result (15).
