PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily retrieve, edit and display only respective mail data trans ferred to/from a certain specified party and about a certain specified matter in an electronic mail controller. SOLUTION: When the preparation of table data is instructed by designating any arbitrary communication destination (destination/sender) and subject, the mail data of the designated communication destination (destination/sender) and subject are successively retrieved out of all the received and transmitted mail stored in received and transmitted mail areas 22 and 23, extracted, sorted corresponding to the communication date and time of every mail and preserved in a table data area 30. Afterwards, series of transmitted/received mail sorted and preserved in this table area 30 while being related by the designated communication destination (destination/sender) and the subject are displayed in the format of a table on the mail process display frame of a table picture while successively fitting the transmitted mail to a left area and the received mail to a right area in the order of high-order block areas.
