PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of connection defects between both connecting electrode parts of a display element and a drive circuit board by using a material which is more flexible than the plastic film substrate of a display device as a film substrate for connecting the drive circuits. SOLUTION: A circuit substrate 20 of a polyimide base material, more flexible than a PES substrate 7 which is a transparent electrode substrate of a liquid crystal display panel 2, i.e., has larger deflection quantity larger than the deflection quantity thereof is used, by which the occurrence of the connection defect win not take place in spite of the use of anisotropic conductive films 23 and the satisfactory connection is achieved through thermal compression bonding. If a circuit substrate 22 of a polyimide base material, which is harder than PES substrate 7 being a transparent electrode substrate of a liquid crystal display panel 2, i.e., has deflection quantity smaller than the deflection quantity thereof is used, the occurrence of the connection defect take place satisfactory connection can be accomplished through thermal compression bonding, when the anisotropic conductive film 23 of which the elastic modulus in shear at 50 deg.C after curing is greater than 5000 MPa is used.
