MULTI-LAYERED SLOT OPTICAL CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability of an optical transmission characteristic. SOLUTION: A pressure tape 8a is woundly formed spirally outside an inner layer slot 1, and a tearing cord 6 is arranged straightly in the outside of the tape 8a in a longitudinal direction of the slot 1. A pressure tape 8b is wound spirally on the outside thereof to press the cord 6. An outer layer slot 2 is molded on the outside of the tape 8b by a extrusion molding technique. The tape 8a is formed of a material free from permeation of a fused material for the slot 2 at the time of the extrusion molding of the slot 2. The tape 8b is formed of a nonwoven cloth having a high close-contact property with respect to the slot 2. A shape of an optical fiber core storing groove 4 in the slot 2 is prevented from collapsed, and an optical transmission loss in a fiber core conductor in the groove 4 is restrained from increasing. The slot 2 is easily teared by the cord 6 to enhance working efficiency for terminal processing.
