PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To analyze a sample in a solution by processing the data obtained from mass spectral information in order to identify and/or quantitatively determine the chemical component of the sample. SOLUTION: A liquid is pumped by an LC pump 5 (for pumping one or several solvents from a solvent vessel 6) through an injection system 1, an LC column 4, and a transmitting line 3. A gas mixture of the evaporated solvent, a sample compound, a carrier and an atomized gas is expanded into a first vacuum chamber 15 through an ultrasonic nozzle and skimmed by a skimmer 16. It is then differentially pumped into a second differential pump chamber 17, and paralleled by a beam collimator 18 to form an ultrasonic molecular beam in a third mass spectrometric vacuum chamber 19. The mass spectrally analyzed ion is detected by an ion detector 23, and the resulting data is processed by a computer 24 for the identification and quantitative determination of the sample compound.
