TERMINAL POSITION SETTING MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector having a mechanism capable of easily setting the positions of terminals in an over-molding process. SOLUTION: An electric connector 10 has a housing 12 having a deformation 24 formed with opposed walls 20 having inner faces 26, the housing 12 being formed of insulating material. The housing 12 is mounted with a plurality of terminals 36 whose contact portions 38 are spaced from each other along at least one of the opposed walls 20 and exposed to the inner faces 26. These terminals 36 have ends farther from one end of the deformation 24. At least a few terminals 36 have spacer tabs 52 protruded sideways from the edges 38a of the contact portions 38 for maintaining at least minimum spaces between the ends farther from the terminals 36 before the insulating housing 12 is molded.
