PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lay a metal-covered cable simply and easily and execute the works with a high reliability and high efficiency. SOLUTION: A metal-covered cable 1 is composed of a conductor wire 3 to feed electricity, a sheath 5 formed from an insulating material and put on the outside of the conductor 3, and a metal covering 7 provided spirally on the outside of the sheath 5, wherein the metal covering 7 is shaped undulately in the longitudinal direction of the conductor 3 in such a way that the width of each crest of undulation is greater than the width of the bottom 12, and a space 20 is formed between the sheath 5 and covering 7. The apex of the crest 8 of metal covering is shaped flat, and undulation is made rectangular.
