PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent interference fringes from occurring at the time of image formation of rays of light transmitted through a wavelength variable interference filter. SOLUTION: A CCD camera 1 is provided with a wavelength variable-type wavelength variable interference filter 2 capable of changing the transmission characteristics of light by arranging a pair of optical substrates, in which reflecting membranes are formed on their opposing surfaces, at a micro interval and changing the micro interval of the optical substrates and picks up images by performing image formation of rays of light transmitted through the interference filter 2 from an object body at an image sensor 4. The CCD camera 1 is further provided with an interference fringe preventing optical structure for preventing interference fringes from occurring at an image forming plane by bringing the rays of light transmitted through the interference filter 2 into parallel rays of light by optical fiber plates 8 and 9 provided in the front and rear of the interference filter 2.
