PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the productivity of a device and to improve user's handleability by shortening document reading time when a document bundle consists of the documents of the same size. SOLUTION: When the document bundle consists of the documents of the same size, the first document out of the document bundle placed on an automatic document feeder 6 is read in a state where the document is fixed on a platen glass 201, and the second and succeeding documents are read in a state where they are kept running on the platen glass in the midst of feeding the document by the feeder 6. |
