PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a soft muting correction circuit by which muting is corrected so as not to produce sound fluctuation due to increased muting amount upon reception of a radio wave with a weak electric field strength if the sensitivity of a receiver such as a wide band receiver depends on a reception frequency. SOLUTION: A reception circuit section that converts a signal received by a reception antenna 1 into an intermediate frequency signal comprises an RF section 2, a mixer circuit 3, a local oscillator circuit 4, an IF amplifier circuit 5, a limiter circuit 6, an FM detection circuit 7, a soft muting circuit 8, a signal detection circuit 9, a slider circuit 10, a controller circuit 11, and an offset circuit 12. The offset circuit 12 controls the soft muting circuit 8 so that the amount of soft muting is kept constant independently of a high/low reception frequency.
