PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a required working space for high-density packaging without giving damage to a connector when connected materials are mounted on and demounted from the connector. SOLUTION: A locking member 10 for a FPC connector 1a for connecting a FPC(flexible printed circuit) consists of a pivotally supporting portion 11, a pawl 12 and a reinforcing plate 20. The locking member 10 having a reversible warping is pushed at both ends with fingers in the protruded warping state for connecting the FPC to the FPC connector 1a. The warping is reversed into a recessed configuration only by pushing the protruded portion of the locking member 10 with fingers, so that the pawl 12 is disengaged from the locking portion 35 of a housing 30 to allow the FPC to be easily removed out of the FPC connector 1a. Damage to and defects in the connector 1a are prevented and a working space is reduced for high-density packaging.
