CATCH-DETECTING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for detecting when something is caught between two things which has a reliability improved for a long time and can detect the catch with a high sensitivity. SOLUTION: A power window apparatus to which the catch-detecting apparatus is applied has a pressure-sensitive part 11 set to an inner peripheral part of a vehicle window 1. The pressure-sensitive part 11 includes a fixed conductor 21 and a mobile conductor 23 arranged in parallel to each other via a predetermined distance and a hollow elastic member 25 enclosing the conductors 21 and 23. A fluctuation current-generating part 13 supplies a fluctuation current to the fixed conductor 21, whereby an induced electromotive force is induced in a closed circuit including the mobile conductor 23 by the fluctuation current flowing in the fixed conductor 21. The induced electromotive force increases as something is caught and the elastic member 25 of the pressure-sensitive part 11 is elastically deformed to be crushed, with the mobile conductor 23 approaching the fixed conductor 21. The increase of the induced electromotive force is detected by a detecting part 17 through an induced electromotive force- detecting part 15. The catching is detected in this manner.
