PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk-based reproducing device where the number of troublesome operations is reduced and continuity of a story can be ensured in the case of reproduction. SOLUTION: A system controller 60 discriminates whether or not the title of a reproduction object is corresponding to a multi-story function before reproducing the contents, and displays a story list menu in response to an instruction of a user when the title is corresponding to that function so as to allow the user to select out of the branched destination stories. When the user selects the branched destination story, the system controller 60 sequentially processes a program chain PGC to reproduce the selected story in response to a structure of the story branch in the title so as to reproduce the contents of the title.
