PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable safe regeneration with low energy, while maintaining image quality and reliability in image formation and image preservation by using an image receiving layer containing a resin, whose saturation solubility in water varies according to acidity or temperature. SOLUTION: A coating-like image is heat-fixed by using a hot-melt ink on an image-carrying film by an electrophotographic process. The film has an image-receiving layer on one face of the substrate and a resin, which facilitates peeling is contained in the image receiving layer so as to enable the peeling of the image receiving layer from a used film. When a resin whose solubility in water or an aqueous solution varies in accordance with acidity and/or temperature is used as the contained resin, the image-receiving layer is made superior in moisture absorption resistance in an environment, in which the image carrying film is used and preserved. In peeling of the image-receiving layer from the used image carrying film, the solubility of the resin in rinsing water is increased by varying the acidity and/or temperature and the image receiving layer is readily dissolved and removed with rinsing water.
