SYMBOL DICTIONARY GENERATING METHOD AND SYMBOL DICTIONARY RETRIEVING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable fast retrieval including up to intermediate matching even when a character string is long and a character which appears very frequently or a symbol including a character link is retrieved and to generate a symbol dictionary with small capacity. SOLUTION: This symbol dictionary generating method automatically generates a meta-symbol dictionary wherein symbols which covers symbols in symbol data and are called 'meta-symbols' are collected; and meta-symbols in the meta-symbol dictionary cover respective symbols in the symbol data and information showing how each symbol is covered is generated as meta- symbol appearance information recorded by the meta-symbols to enable fast retrieval including up to intermediate matching and generate the symbol dictionary with small capacity.
