PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely notify a user of an urgent message by using a means-which detects the reception of the urgent message in an automatic answering mode and then changes and/or blinks the color of a back light. SOLUTION: When a call request is received from a terminal of the opposite party of communication via a communication circuit 4, an operation request message of a DTMF key is sent to the terminal of the opposite party when a receiving terminal is set in an automatic answering mode. Receiving a reply telephone request, the terminal of the opposite party inputs a prescribed ten key. The receiving terminal detects the input of the ten key, registers a telegraphic message in a memory RAM 8, sends a reply telephone request acceptance message to the terminal of the opposite party and also blinks a back light of a liquid crystal display LCD 1 When another automatic answering message is received, the back light is blinked in a different color. Thus, a user can suitably deal with various types of message to immediately gives a replay a telephone call against an urgent message.
