The javelin (1) has a blunt tip (3) which is screwed or pushed into a socket in the end of a cylindrical forward portion (8) with a hard core covered with elastic material (9). The handle (4) consists of cord wound on a rigid sleeve and the tail end or the javelin gently tapers toward the end (5) and has an elastic covering (11) over a continuation of the hard rigid core. The tip (3) of the javelin is hollow and may be filled with paint or other suitable fluid which may escape through small holes to mark where the javelin strikes the ground. The elastic covering of the javelin may be made of rubber. There may be stabilizing flights like an arrow at the tail end.
