PURPOSE: An apparatus for driving a control valve of a variable capacity compressor is provided to improve the performance of engine and prevent the damage of compressor by varying the piston stroke of the compressor by controlling the position of the control valve according to the traveling state of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for driving a control valve of a variable capacity compressor includes a traveling state detection part(70) for outputting a vehicle speed detection signal and a speed change detection signal, a controller(80) for outputting a motor driving signal only when the vehicle is quickly accelerated or traveling an upward slop in response to the vehicle speed detection signal and the speed change detection signal, a step motor(90) mounted at a lower part of a bellows of the control valve(60) for pushing upward the lower part of the bellows by a predetermined height in response to the motor driving signal.
