The security device has netting (1) made at least partly of an electrically conducting mesh, to which at least two different electrical potentials (11,12) can be applied that are active over its area, and a signalling device (3) that applies the potentials to the netting and detects a capacitance and/or inductance change. An Independent claim is also included for a net for a safety arrangement.
