PURPOSE: A method and a device for detecting the leakage of gas are provided to elevate reliability of a gas alarm by compensating gas alarm signals by referencing indoor temperature and to perform warning of gas leakage by considering indoor temperature. CONSTITUTION: The value of gas alarm is output for over a certain number of times. An alarm for gas leakage is generated. Herein, the gas alarm value is compared to a certain reference value. If the gas alarm value is lower than the reference value, the leakage amount of gas is not so much, or noise of signals is output. Thus, an alarm cumulative counter is initialized. If the gas alarm value is over the reference value, the leakage amount of gas increases. Thus, the alarm cumulative counter is increased. If the alarm cumulative counter is over a certain number, a gas sensing device generates gas leakage signals. Thereby, alarm for gas leakage is performed.
