PURPOSE: An apparatus for image processing using a dithering circuit is provided to express one pixel image with a 8 bit data by way of grouping and mapping pixels of similar color distributed on the RGB region using a dithering circuit. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for image processing using a dithering circuit includes a camera, an amplifier, an A/D converter, and a dithering circuit(400). The amplifier amplifies the image signal input from the camera. The A/D converter converts the amplified RGB image signal by the amplifier to a digital signal. The dithering circuit(400) converts the input signal from the A/D converter of 8-bit R, 8-bit G, and 8-bit B to a 3-bit R, 3-bit G, and 2-bit B signals, respectively. For conversion, the dithering circuit utilizes grouping and representative inverse mapping. The 3-bit R, 3-bit G, and 2-bit B signals are inputted to a digital signal processor.
