DEVICE FOR PREVENTING MOLTEN METAL FROM INFILTRATING FOR CONVERTER

PURPOSE: A device for preventing permeation of molten steel into a space between bricks of a tapping hole in a converter is provided to prevent accidents of outflow of molten steel and shorten an operation time for exchanging the sleeve bricks of the tapping hole, thereby improving productivity by cohesively filling the spray refractory into a space between sleeve bricks and tapping hole set bricks. CONSTITUTION: In a device for preventing permeation of molten steel into a space between bricks of a tapping hole in a converter in which the molten steel is prevented from being permeated into the spaces between them by cohesively filling spray refractory in the space (6) between sleeve bricks (2) and a tapping hole set brick (1) after exchanging the sleeve bricks (2) of the converter tapping hole (5), the device comprises sleeve bricks (2) equipped with a gap maintaining tip (10) and a plurality of vapor and moisture drain passages (12), wherein the gap maintaining tip (10) is adhered to a certain area on the outer circumference of a plurality of sleeve bricks in the length direction of the sleeve bricks, and wherein the vapor and moisture drain passages are formed in the circumferential direction of the sleeve bricks so that the vapor and moisture drain passages (11) are connected to the space (6) between the sleeve bricks and the set brick (1) so as to discharge vapor and moisture generated during the filling of the spray refractories into the space (6); and a sleeve brick supporting plate (4) on the circumference of which the vapor and moisture drain passages are formed for discharging the vapor and moisture, wherein the sleeve brick supporting plate supports the sleeve bricks at the outer side of the tapping hole (5).
