摘要 PURPOSE: A life cycle extended high chromium white irons having high hardness and high toughness, and a method for manufacturing the same are provided which not only maintains high abrasion resistance and hardness but also improves impact toughness by controlling CVF (carbide volume fraction), the amount of residual austenite, the size of process carbide and the aspect ratio of process carbide. CONSTITUTION: The life cycle extended high chromium white irons having high hardness and high toughness is characterized in that 0.2 to 1.0 wt.% of Ti and/or 1.0 to 2.0 wt.% of Cu are additionally added to an ordinary composition for a high chromium white iron alloy comprising 2.5 to 3.5 wt.% of C, 15.0 to 33.0 wt.% of Cr, 0.8 to 1.6 wt.% of Mo, 1.0 wt.% or less of Si, 0.5 to 1.5 wt.% of Mn, 0.1 to 0.5 wt.% of V, and a balance of Fe. In the method for manufacturing the high chromium white irons that is manufactured of the composition for a high chromium white iron alloy through smelting and casting processes, the high chromium white iron alloy is heat treated at a high temperature of 1100 to 1200 deg.C for 2 to 6 hours after the smelting and casting processes.
