DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING, PORTIONING AND RELOADING A STACK

The aim of the invention is to portion a stack (4) of thin postal items sitting adjacent on a support with at least one movable holding support (5) and a belt conveyor. To this end, the support has a stationary, horizontally oriented part (1) and an adjacent pivotable part (2) which can be pivoted about a pivoting axis (3) which is located at the outer margin in the direction of stacking. During portioning, the pivotable part which extends transversely from the stationary part downwards is swiveled into a horizontal position. Below the stationary part at the border to the movable part a holding support (6) with a belt conveyor is arranged. Said belt conveyor is driven when swiveled downwards. An additional support (7) is arranged at the frame of the pivotable part of the support just above the postal items. Said additional support retains the remaining stack on the stationary support. The portioned and then compressed stack is located between the holding supports (5, 6) with belt conveyors and is reloaded by the action of the drive of said belt conveyors.
