<p>A delivery formulation for administration to a mucous membrane and which is either mucoadhesive per se or becomes mucoadhesive on contact with a mucous membrane, said formulation comprising a particulate material to be delivered to or across the membrane in a matrix or dose form containing an amphiphilic substance. Prefered formulations in accordance with the invention comprise a matrix or dose form of the amphiphilic substance in a liquid crystal phase, the matrix or dose form incorporating the particulate material to be delivered.</p> |
