APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING DATA USING SAMPLE INTERPOLATION

PURPOSE: A data detecting apparatus is to sample a reproduction signal by speed corresponding to half of data reproduction speed, and detect data of the reproduction speed by using a sample interpolation. CONSTITUTION: A data detecting apparatus comprises a sampler which samples RLL(Ran Length Limited) coded data by half speed of reproduction speed and provides a plurality of sampled data, and an estimator for estimating sample values of the plurality of sampled data by using a sample interpolation. The sampler is an A/D converter(204) for sampling the RLL coded data by double speed of sample period. The estimator consists of a digital interpolation filter(206). The digital interpolation filter comprise an inserter(208) for insert "0" in the plurality of sampled data, and a filter which has 1/4 bandwidth of sample period and filters an output of the inserter at baseband.
