PURPOSE: A system for processing a high speed image is to form a serial processing algorithm having low speed in parallel to process image data in real time at high speed as much as possible using a parallel algorithm and a host processing unit. CONSTITUTION: A host memory unit(14) stores a serial instruction for a serial process and image data to be processed. A parallel instruction memory unit(15) stores a parallel instruction for a parallel process. An auxiliary memory unit(16) serves as an auxiliary portion of the host memory unit. A host processing unit(11) forms an image data processing algorithm into a serial processing algorithm and a parallel processing algorithm in parallel to withdraw the serial instruction and the image data to be processed one by one and perform the serial process of the image data. A parallel processing unit(12) withdraws the parallel instruction stored in the parallel instruction memory unit one by one when receiving an order from the host processing unit to divide the image data into a plurality of data groups and divide each data group into a plurality of data blocks, and then performs the parallel process of each block.
