Remote controlled stopping system for transport vehicles such as trains and road vehicles

Road vehicles used in civil applications are equipped with communications systems that allow the vehicle control to be linked with that of a rail crossing. When the road vehicle is within range a potential collision situation at a train crossing is detected and the road vehicle speed is progressively reduced and finally stopped.
