PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the remote maintenance device of a nuclear fusion furnace for eliminating the need for moving all of long device in a narrow torus-shaped space and a maintenance port every time when carrying equipment in the furnace. SOLUTION: A remote maintenance device is provided with an orbit 120 consisting of a plurality of circular links being connected by a joint 122; an orbit feed mechanism 220 that carries the orbit 120 in a maintenance port 110 being formed in the diametrical direction of a container 101 from an accommodation space outside the vacuum container 101, fixes an orbit 122, is developed in the container 101, at the same time cancels the fixation of the orbit 122, and performs accommodation into the accommodation space via the port 110; an orbit slide device 180 that guides the orbit 120 being developed in the port 101 in the peripheral direction of the container 101, and at the same time performs slide drive; a vehicle 160 that drives along the orbit 120; and a manipulator 140 that is mounted to the vehicle 160 and performs the maintenance operation of the equipment in a nuclear fusion furnace.
